A few members of the BUCS incoming team were lucky enough to get sent to a three day leadership conference in Ottawa, Ontario, with many other business societies across Canada. Here they learnt all about their new positions, and the best way to bring value to all of the WSB students.

The team that went to RT13 is: Jacqueline Holm (Incoming VP Academic), Derek Leberge (Incoming VP External), Alex Buffam (Incoming VP Communications), Julia Hayes (Incoming VP Events and Social), Erik Schwegler (Incoming VP Finance), Justin Blackburn (Incoming VP Internal), Adam Beare (Outgoing President), Shawn Popler (Outgoing Business Senator)

At this event, the business schools also voted in the new president of CABS and we are very proud to say it’s Williams School of Business’s own Adam Normand! Congratulations to him, and the entire new CABS executive!

NIBS and Enactus

The entire BUCS team would like to congratulate two different teams within the Williams School of Business for their success over the break!

The WSB’s NIBS team competed in Leuven University in Belgium, over the spring break. The team was made of four outstanding WSB students: Alex Cook, Dominick Lemerise-Gauvin, Nigel van Dalen and Valerie Markham, and was lead by Professor Robson. The team beat Carlton University in the Semi-Finals, and continued on to the finals where they competed against Memorial University, and won the championship! Congratulations to the entire team!

Enactus Bishop’s University, also competed over the break. The team competed in the regional competition in Toronto, Ontario on Monday, and took home third place in the Entrepreneurship event! The team members include: Rylan Schwarze, Josee Maurice, Cameron Albert, Brittany Wolff and Erin Crowell, and was coached by Professor Bedi. Congratulations to the Enactus team!

Congratulations to both teams on all your success! Thank you to everyone for all your hard work and dedication! You have all made everyone in BUCS and the WSB incredibly proud!

At all BUCS events and workshops we make sure to take lots of pictures of everyone!

Unfortunately, the majority of the Boot Camp pictures are causing some issues when being uploaded. We are currently working on this issue to get you all the pictures that were taken then!

BU Dragons’ Den

Bishop’s University student entrepreneurs PITCH their ideas in the BU Dragons’ Den. Come see it LIVE this Friday, November 30 at 6 pm at Foreman Art Gallery.

Based on the CBC’s TV show named Dragons’ Den, the 2012 BU Dragons’ Den event is designed for those entrepreneurs and teams that consider that they have feasible idea with a potential to become a successful profitable business. The entrepreneurs’ main goal is to persuade in short pitches that their idea is worth time and a cash injection. The Dragon judges are the successful business people who will be questioning the participants and discovering the most prepared, passionate and motivated ones. The teams are competing for advice from experienced businessmen, potential future collaboration with them and, of course, the final cash prize!There is no admission fee and everyone is welcomed!
